How do I become a guest DJ?

Kim Angel is one of the many t*girl DJ's whose careers have taken off since DJing at Trans-MISSION.

Trans-MISSION [TX] has always been a springboard for new transgender DJ talent and we are always keen to hear from budding t*girl DJs. We are proud that many of our past guest DJs have gone on to find DJ work in other clubs up and down the country, having 'cut their teeth' at TX. However, we have also been let down on a couple of occasions by t*girl DJs who backed out at the last minute. So, if you are serious about DJing at Trans-MISSION, we have developed the following guidelines which should help you (and us) to make things work more smoothly:Sexy tranny DJ?
  1. We are on the look-out for transgender DJs. This means that if you are a guy, then sadly our guest slots aren't for you. There are loads of places where you can DJ 'en homme'; we are keen to showcase new t*girl talent.
  2. We think it's essential that you visit Trans-MISSION before you DJ. This gives us a chance to get to know you, and gives you a chance to see whether you play the kind of music that our crowd enjoys. If you are coming along, please let us know in advance so that we get to meet you!
  3. Our crowd has widely varying ages, so your musical style needs to cater for them. Whilst it's impossible to please everyone, all the time, we do like to try and make sure that the music we play keeps a large proportion of our party-goes happy for most of the time. On a typical night we might play anything from 70's disco, 80's pop, 90's house, today's charts and tomorrow's anthems.
  4. We can't offer much, but we do try and make your DJing worthwhile. On the night you DJ, we will add you and a friend to our guestlist (which means you don't pay to get in...) and buy you your drinks for your efforts too.
  5. Our guest DJ slot is from 9pm to 11pm. Our dance-floor begins to fill-up from 10pm onwards so this gives you an easy 'in' to our eclectic crowd. If you want to get used to the equipment before 9pm, that's fine with us!
  6. We only have guest DJ slots at our London events. We have less say in some of the events we host elsewhere in the UK, as the venues we use often stipulate certain conditions. Whilst we know London isn't local for everyone, we do have the flexibility we need to encourage new talent there!
  7. We require you to submit a picture and a short profile. Take a look at some of the profiles on the site to give you an idea of what we need. These are for your benefit as much as they are ours - we like to showcase our DJs!
Don't let all this put you off, we really are keen to hear from you; we just thought that it would be worthwhile letting you know what's what so that you can be prepared!
